Welcome to The Bakehouse Blog! After procrastinating about setting up a website for my home baking business, I've decided to create a group in my Facebook account as well as set up this blog for the business instead of spending money to get a domain as a trial for the time being. Ok, I may be a cheapskate, but hey, this is a home baking business, trying to cut costs during this bad economic times :) But if things turn out well, who knows, probably will set up a proper website or even a shop in the future. For the moment, I think this will suffice as I can always "bring" my "virtual shop" along with me if I leave Hong Kong or I can also choose to pack up and call it a day if things don't pick up :)
Basically, this blog will be used to display my product items and I welcome enquiries about them via email. However, please note that currently, my location is in Hong Kong, so orders will have to be placed from Hong Kong for obvious delivery reasons. So, no spamming and please keep your comments kind as this is just a small home business with limited resources and I do not wish to see a verbal war break out in my blog. I will also strive to improve my skills and boost my creativity with research, experiments and travels, however, I do suffer from the occasional "designer block", I'm just human!
Also, I understand that most Hong Kongers still read in chinese and not just chinese, I mean, Hong Kong Cantonese version to be precise :) Unfortunately I'm not a borned and bred Hong Konger, so my Hong Kong version of the chinese written language is atrocious! Therefore, I would rather not humiliate myself by putting up a chinese version at least for the time being, till I can find some kind soul who can help me do the proper translations :) (hint hint: anyone out there?) So, I can only give my sincere apologies but if you Hong Kong Cantonese purists out there are interested in The Bakehouse products, you can still drop your enquiries in chinese (yes, I do read chinese well enough! Hallelujah!) and I will do my best to reply in kind.
Just a last note, I do hope everyone will drop by this blog occasionally to check out any new designs/news from the The Bakehouse. Happy browsing!
