Petite (3cm) and Jumbo (10cm) are also availabe but only in customised packages/assortments hence, no minimum order and the price will be half the price of Regular for Petite and double the price of Regular for Jumbo. Chocolate Ganache includes an extra $5 for each cupcake.

* Please note that there is no customization for Petite due to its tiny size, frosting design is just simply swirl with sprinkles.

** Special Designs include additional items like cookies, fondant (sugarpaste), fresh flowers, sugar flowers/figures, beads, etc will incur additional costs of HK$5-HK$30 per cupcake. So please feel free to enquire.

Novelty and Miniature Cakes

The Bakehouse also has its own series of handscultped couture and miniature cakes for customisation. Novelty Cakes are usually 2 to 3 tiers in height and I can also create a Wonky Cake, ie lopsided cake for your special event! Miniature Cakes are can 1 or 2-tiered small cakes with a base of 4-7 inches and a height of 3-7 inches. There will be a minimum order for miniature cakes. Please feel free to check with me on the prices and flavours available!

As these are handsculpted specialty cakes, a 2-week lead time will be needed, hence please make sure you enquire at least 1 month in advance (as time is needed to go over cake details).

Decorated Sugar Cookies

The Bakehouse custom-made handscrafted cookies are perfect for party favors, weddings, showers, birthdays and more. These delicious sugar cookies can be cut into many different shapes (2”-5”), are all hand decorated with royal icing or fondant with/without novelty sprinkles and added decorations. They can also be individually wrapped in cellophane & tied with a ribbon.

Cake Designs: Besides choosing cake flavours, customers have the option to select the Size/Shape/Colours of the final cake, ie, cake designs don't have to be restricted to those you see above. Customers can opt for a design of above cakes in a different shape or colour OR be mystified and leave the designing to me!

Food Allergies: Cream Cheese will be substituted with pumpkin/sweet potato/potato puree where dogs are lactose-intolerant.

In addition, all colours used in The Bakehouse cake frostings (except the store-bought coloured doggy cookies used in cake decorations) are naturally extracted from plants and not from commercially produced food colourings. In fact, the ingredients used, eg whole wheat flour, oats, wheat germ, carob powder and carob chips, are probably healthier than what we, humans, would usually eat! Ordering, Payment & Delivery

Below are some information with regards to order placements, payment methods, delivery and general terms & conditions that customers will need to know.

Delivery/Self Collection:

No charge for self collection at:

Chek Nai Ping Village’s Tai Po Road Bus-Stop (near Chinese University of Hong Kong) towards Shatin direction

OR

Chinese University of Hong Kong's Main Entrance, Tai Po Road, Shatin, N.T.

Meet-up Areas

There is a minimum order of HK$300 for delivery to meet-up area. Unfortunately, as this is a small home baking business with limited resources, I can only do meetups at MTR stations along certain MTR lines except for wedding orders, whereby delivery to the wedding venue can be arranged based on return cab fare. NO meetups at Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations and stations along Airport Express, Light Rail, Tung Chung Line, Disney Resort Line and West Rail Line.

Below are the delivery fees for the various MTR lines (delivery fee is quoted per MTR station along each line, multiple stations are charged at HK$50 per additional station):

Tsuen Wan Line - HK$80
Kwun Tong Line - HK$80
Tseung Kwan O Line - HK$80
East Rail Line (no meetups at Lo Wu & Lok Ma Chau) - HK$50
Ma On Shan Line - HK$50

Meet-up time: 10:30hr-19:00hr

No meet-ups/deliveries on Mondays and Public Holidays (self collection not affected).

Meet-ups will also be cancelled during Red Rainstorms or Typhoon 3 (T3) or higher for safety reasons. However, if Red Rainstorm or T3 signal is lowered 3 hours or more in advance of the scheduled meet-up time, your order will be provided.

Wedding deliveries may be re-arranged based on weather situation and time of reception on delivery day.

Payment Method:
a) Cash payment at self collection

b) Payment can be made by Bank Transfer:
Hang Seng Bank A/c #: 290-8-032515
A/c Name: TAN PING FERN CELESTE

c) Cheque payment to TAN PING FERN CELESTE;

Hang Seng Bank A/c #: 290-8-032515 to be written on the back of cheque.

Cheque is to be deposited by customer at Hang Seng Bank's Quick Cheque Deposit and NOT given to courier on delivery/meet-up day.

Please make sure there are no errors when issuing cheque.

Delivery fee is to be paid together with order.

Please note that for delivery/meet-up, payment is strictly via bank transfer or cheque payment (only when payment is cleared then is order confirmed). NO cash transactions for delivery/meet-up.

Refund and Cancellation Policy:
No refund will be given if order is cancelled 3 days before order is due.

50% refund for festive, special occasion and novelty products if cancelled 7 days before order is due.

Placing Orders:
Orders and enquiries are via email only.

Everyday Cupcakes, Decorated Sugar Cookies, Packages & Doggy Treats:
7 days lead time is required FROM the day when:
a) order is confirmed by by 1pm (for cash payment)
b) payment is received by 1pm (for bank transfer)

Urgent orders (within 7 days) may still be accepted if there is still available baking slot.

Festive, Special Occasion & Novelty Cakes/Cupcakes/Decorated Sugar Cookies Favours:
For festive, special occasion and couture products (eg wedding, birthday), 2 weeks lead time is required from the day when order is confirmed to avoid disappointment. However, lead time may vary depending on season. I will try my best to accommodate you. If possible, allow 3-4 weeks prior to event date to go over all your order details (eg, decorations, food allergies, etc). The earlier you can confirm the date, the better. To confirm your date, 50% deposit is required. Cake order is fully confirmed only after full payment is made.

General:

All fresh food, except cookies and cakes covered in fondant, are advised to be consumed as soon as possible. Otherwise, please store them in the refrigerator especially where cream cheese frostings are used.

Goods sold are non-refunable and non-exchangeable.

Emails are generally answered within 48 hours, if not, customers will receive an auto-reply during the period I am not in Hong Kong. I seek your understanding in this matter. Thank you.

Please include order quantity, design request/enquiry, occasion/nature/date of event (if any), self-collection/meet-up, contact number and preferred MTR station in email.

Welcome Note

Welcome to The Bakehouse Blog! After procrastinating about setting up a website for my home baking business, I've decided to create a group in my Facebook account as well as set up this blog for the business instead of spending money to get a domain as a trial for the time being. Ok, I may be a cheapskate, but hey, this is a home baking business, trying to cut costs during this bad economic times :) But if things turn out well, who knows, probably will set up a proper website or even a shop in the future. For the moment, I think this will suffice as I can always "bring" my "virtual shop" along with me if I leave Hong Kong or I can also choose to pack up and call it a day if things don't pick up :)

Basically, this blog will be used to display my product items and I welcome enquiries about them via email. However, please note that currently, my location is in Hong Kong, so orders will have to be placed from Hong Kong for obvious delivery reasons. So, no spamming and please keep your comments kind as this is just a small home business with limited resources and I do not wish to see a verbal war break out in my blog. I will also strive to improve my skills and boost my creativity with research, experiments and travels, however, I do suffer from the occasional "designer block", I'm just human!

Also, I understand that most Hong Kongers still read in chinese and not just chinese, I mean, Hong Kong Cantonese version to be precise :) Unfortunately I'm not a borned and bred Hong Konger, so my Hong Kong version of the chinese written language is atrocious! Therefore, I would rather not humiliate myself by putting up a chinese version at least for the time being, till I can find some kind soul who can help me do the proper translations :) (hint hint: anyone out there?) So, I can only give my sincere apologies but if you Hong Kong Cantonese purists out there are interested in The Bakehouse products, you can still drop your enquiries in chinese (yes, I do read chinese well enough! Hallelujah!) and I will do my best to reply in kind.
